Confirmations - 16 May 2010
Thank you to St Mary's Church, Wistaston for hosting the Confirmation service
on the 16 May 2010. Congratulations to the 17 candidates - 9 from St Peter's,
5 from St Mary's and 3 from All Saints, Weston. The service was
absolutely packed with about 250 people there to support those confirmed.
Our candidates were Franczeska Birch, Cameron Blake, Amy Ford, Phillip Geddes,
Hannah Gough, Harriet Gough, Lydia Naylor, James Whittaker and Richard
Whittaker.
It is wonderful that our young people were prepared to make a stand and
declare their faith in this way. Congratulations to all of them.

- FAMILY COMMUNION
The Gift of Time
This was a very interesting and happy service. It reminded
us that it is so important to give the 'gift of time' to children to
help them develop.
It is also worth noting that spiritual things will be much harder
to develop where children lack the loving support of their families.
Percussion
instruments were handed to the congregation to accompany our singing;
this was great fun. We were also delighted to hear some of our
younger members performing; singing, reading poetry...
Tea
and lots of lovely cakes were served in the hall after the service.

St Peter's Church
Flower Festival 2009
3, 4 and 5 July
Flowers and Music

A very successful flower festival; some people
have described it as the best they had ever seen.
The church was filled with beautiful
displays, each one representing a different piece of music. Delicious
refreshments were served in the hall and the marquee. The weather was
sunshine and showers, and it was pleasantly warm.
On Friday there was a short opening
service which was attended by the Cheshire East Mayor, Councillor Margaret
Simon, and her Consort, husband Maurice.
Sue Beesley, BBC Gardener of the Year 2006, officially opened the Flower
Festival at
2.00 pm on
Friday 3rd July.
We were also very pleased to have a visit from Edward
Timpson M.P. (Crewe and Nantwich) later in the afternoon.
A big thank you to the Crewe Amateur Musical Society,
who delighted us all with their wonderful singing in the concert on Saturday
evening. "Songs from the Musicals" complimented the music theme of the
flowers, and was very moving.
Thank you
to all those who have worked so hard to make it such a magnificent occasion,
and to all of our visitors for their support; we hope you all enjoyed your
visit.
How sad I felt at
6.00pm on Sunday when it had
finished, but I was soon lifted again when we had the evening Songs of
Praise. The Hymns where chosen by the congregation, and so they were all
popular and heartily sung in the beautiful surroundings.
